Center of Excellence
Saint Mary's Health Care has been designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). This distinction is reserved for centers that have undergone thorough examination and met established standards in outcomes and patient care as set forth by the Surgical Review Corporation.
Established in 2004, the ASMBS Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence program is available to all surgeons, hospitals, and freestanding outpatient facilities in the United States and Canada. The goal of the program is to improve safety and quality of care for bariatric surgery patients.
